Presentations about our dashboard solutions can be either school-based, or can be done over the Internet if preferred. There is also a demonstration website (Login: dfsi and Password: dfsi), that has a small sample of the kinds of dashboards that we can build for your school.
A typical school installation will have a set of standard dashboards and a number of bespoke dashboards which can be created and configured at the school’s request. |
■
Once a school orders an Active Dashboards installation we will discuss and agree installation requirements, the details of bespoke dashboards and dashboard items that can be created before installation, and an installation date.
■
Security issues and key elements of dashboard security access are also discussed and agreed prior to installation. Security elements can be modified later by schools themselves or remotely (using Logmein remote access software), by Cosby Clifton support staff.
■
Installation can either be done remotely (using Logmein remote access software), or can be done on-site.
■
Active Dashboards can be configured to use logins and group information from the school’s Active Directory, or can have users and groups added and configured within the software itself. This task is also done during installation, but can be carried out remotely at a later date.
■
The software will be installed on the school’s Windows server and will need to have access to Microsoft’s Internet Information Services (IIS) in order to configure key installation options. A web address (either a modification of the school’s existing address, such as http://www.schoolname.lea.sch.uk/dashboard or a new address) will need to be configured.

Once installation is complete, key members of staff will be trained in how to carry out certain administrative and support tasks.
